2018 – 2019 Energy Assistance Program

Baltimore City residents can visit ANY Community Action Partnership Center to apply for assistance with their utility bill(s).  Qualifying customers may apply for Energy Assistance Grants annually, beginning July 1. Eligible applicants must have an existing BGE account and meet the following income guidelines:

     Income Requirements

Applicants must provide the following items:

  • Photo Identification
  • Proof of income for the last 30 days for all household members
  • Proof of residence (rent or lease agreement, mortgage)
  • Social Security card(s) for all household members
  • Current utility bill

Residents can also apply online at dhs.maryland.gov/benefits by clicking create an account or “sign in". You can also mail a completed application to the OHEP Processing Center at 1731 E. Chase Street, Baltimore, MD, 21213. Please visit http://myohepstatus.org to check the status of a submitted application. For more information, please call 410-396-6406.

2018 Financial Literacy & College 101 @ Morgan State University 

MSU

Baltimore City Community Action Partnership is providing FREE financial literacy and college preparation workshops at Morgan State University (MSU). The workshops are for Baltimore City youth ages 13 - 21. Participants will learn how to use a debit pay card, manage their money and how to save their money. Participants will also learn how to prepare and pay for college through admission requirements and financial aid/scholarship opportunities. FREE lunch will be provided. There are nine workshops scheduled from July - August: July 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27, 31 & August 3, 7. All workshops are from 9 AM - 2 PM.

2017-2018 Energy Assistance Program 

Starting July 3, ALL Baltimore City residents can visit ANY Community Action Partnership Center or the Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP) to apply for assistance with their utility bill(s).  Qualifying customers may apply for Energy Assistance Grants annually. We encourage residents to apply online here. For more information please call 410-396-5555.

Customers applying in person for energy assistance should bring the following items with them:

  • Proof of total household income for the last 30 days including all sources of income
  • Proof of residence (rent or lease agreement, mortgage)
  • Social Security card(s) for all household members

Mayor Catherine E. Pugh's Fall Festival Coat Distribution 

 

Mayor Pugh's Fall Festival

 

In collaboration with BCPSS and DSS, Baltimore City Community Action Partnership (CAP) is helping Mayor Pugh distribute coats to residents at the Fall Festival being held on Friday, October 27, from 4 - 7 pm at the War Memorial Plaza. 

Residents and their families must register to receive a FREE coat. Below is a letter from Mayor Pugh regarding the coat distribution and registration form. Baltimore City CAP asks that you share this information with those in need of a coat to stay warm this winter.
